The golden rule when buying an investment property is ‘There is no such thing as a bargain’. Check the surrounding area of your ‘bargain’ and be aware that if you pay less for the property you will usually receive less in rental.
Bear in mind when you look at prospective properties that tenants will want all the ‘mod cons’ that you yourself would want in a property. Clean, tidy properties with modern kitchens and bathrooms (with showers) will rent a lot quicker and for higher rental than a tired, dirty & dated property. You will also end up with a better quality tenant.
